Carlos Dominguez, the suspected Davis serial killer charged with two counts of murder and attempted murder, admitted guilt during a hearing discussing the results of his psychiatric evaluation. However, the criminal proceedings are on hold until a jury determines if he is mentally competent to stand trial. A court-appointed doctor found Dominguez to be incompetent, but prosecutors dispute it. A trial to decide on his mental health is set for July 24. If found competent, the criminal proceedings will continue, and if not, he will likely be sent to a state hospital for treatment.
