"Google Meet Introduces Interactive 'Companion Mode' for Android and iOS Users"

Google is introducing its "Companion Mode" to the Meet app on Android and iOS, allowing users to access interactive features and controls when participating in a Meet call via an in-room audio/video conferencing system. This mode enables users to check in, share emoji reactions, raise their hand, turn on captions, exchange chat messages, and view presented content on their mobile devices without needing to open a laptop. The feature is particularly useful for large in-person meetings and is rolling out over the coming weeks for Workspace and personal Google Accounts.

WhatsApp's Companion Mode now available to all beta users for multi-device use.

WhatsApp's "companion mode" is now rolling out to all beta users on Android, allowing users to use their account across multiple handsets. The mode differs from the "Linked devices" function as it allows users to link up to four phones at once. However, some features may still not be available, such as the ability to manage broadcast lists and post a status update from the linked device. The new companion mode is only currently available to WhatsApp beta users on Android.
