The recent debut of the Rivian R3 and R3X has generated significant excitement, although it may be years before these models hit the streets. A video posted by a Utah Rivian Club member shows the silver R3 concept driving around Laguna Beach, providing a glimpse of its size and presence on the road. With limited information available, including a claim of "over 300 miles of range," the R3 is expected to be more affordable than the R2, which is set to debut in the first half of 2026. If Rivian can successfully bring the R3 and R3X to market in a timely manner and at reasonable prices, it could have a hit on its hands in the competitive compact crossover EV market.

The new vehicle, codenamed ‘Redwood,’ could help Tesla compete in the electric vehicle market and is expected to be developed alongside an autonomous robotaxi.
