YouTube to Discontinue Stories Feature on June 26th

YouTube is shutting down its YouTube Stories feature next month to focus on its more popular features, Shorts and Community posts. The company found that Shorts drove more subscribers than Stories did, and Community posts drive better interaction with subscribers. YouTube Stories was the platform's response to Instagram's popular Stories feature, but it never really took off. Any story created before June 26 will expire as normal, and there will no longer be any YouTube Stories viewable starting July 3.

YouTube is discontinuing its Stories feature, which allowed creators to post temporary updates or behind-the-scenes content. The feature will end on June 26th, and existing posts will expire after seven days. YouTube is instead encouraging creators to use Community Posts and Shorts to share content. Community Posts allow for text-based updates, polls, quizzes, images, and videos, while Shorts is a TikTok competitor for short-form video content.
