Wegmans debuts in Manhattan's East Village at Astor Place
Wegmans, an upstate New York grocery chain, has opened a new location in the East Village at Astor Place. The 87,000-square-foot store offers a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, hot and prepared food, and fresh fish flown in from Japan. In addition, Wegmans has made a $100,000 donation to various causes and has been recognized as one of Fortune Magazine's top places to work for 25 years.
