Planet seeks data extraction partners.

Planet Labs, a data analytics firm, is seeking partners to extract more value from its data collected by hundreds of satellites in space. The company is working with Microsoft to create a PlanetGPT using AI to make satellite data more accessible by indexing it, and making it searchable and conversational. Planet is reshaping itself to be more than an Earth observation firm and become a data and information provider. The company has signed a number of cooperative research and development agreements with government agencies to explore ways to extract insights from Planet’s archive.
