"Primo," a new coming-of-age comedy based on the life of journalist and author Shea Serrano, premieres on Amazon's Freevee streaming service. The show follows a young Mexican American high school student as he navigates cultural norms, societal expectations, and the chaotic home life of being raised by his single mom and five uncles. Serrano, one of the show's creators, hopes that audiences will see the universal appeal of the show and not just focus on its Latino characters. "Primo" is part of Serrano's growing portfolio of TV and film projects, including a limited podcast series for Amazon Studios and his first feature film, "Miguel Wants to Fight," which will premiere on Hulu this year.
