Joni Mitchell's Triumphant Return to the Stage with All-Star Celebration.

Joni Mitchell played her first headline show in 23 years at the Gorge Amphitheatre in rural Washington state, joined by musical luminaries including Annie Lennox, Sarah McLachlan and Marcus Mumford. Mitchell's performance was part of Brandi Carlile's weekend festival and modelled after the "Joni Jams" Mitchell hosts at her LA home. Mitchell's singing felt conversational, as though she was relaying wisdom gained from her 79 years, and her performance was interspersed with covers of her songs by others on stage. Despite the heavy praise back and forth, Mitchell's performance felt ego-free and set the tone for a joyful show.
