Nebraska's Max Anderson and Brice Matthews have been named Collegiate Baseball All-Americans, with Anderson being a second-team selection and Matthews a third-team honoree. Anderson had a standout junior season, hitting .414 with 21 home runs and 70 RBI, while Matthews batted .359 with 20 home runs and 67 RBI. Both players were also named First-Team All-Big Ten selections.
LSU right-hander Paul Skenes has been named the 2023 National Player of the Year by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. Skenes is the third LSU player to receive the award and has a 10-2 record this season with a 1.89 ERA in 90.1 innings, recording 167 strikeouts and only 17 walks. He leads the Southeastern Conference in several categories and has pledged $10 for every strikeout he records this season to Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization.
