Me'Arah O'Neal, the youngest child of NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, has committed to play women's basketball for the University of Florida Gators. The 17-year-old, ranked No. 33 in the espnW Top 100 for the 2024 class, chose Florida over other finalists, including her father's alma mater LSU. O'Neal cited her connection with coach Kelly Rae Finley as a key factor in her decision. She joins Alivia McGill as part of the Gators' 2024-25 recruiting class. O'Neal's siblings also have basketball backgrounds, with her brother Shareef playing for UCLA and LSU, and her sister Amirah having played for LSU and Texas Southern.

Adam Sandler congratulated high school golfer, Happy Gilmore, after he announced his commitment to play at Ball State. Gilmore earned the nickname "Happy" as a child because he can hit the long ball like Sandler's character. He enters all tournaments using the moniker and even posed for a picture wearing a Boston Bruins jersey like Sandler's character. Unlike Sandler's character, Gilmore does not play hockey.

LeBron James celebrated his son Bronny's commitment to USC, marking the first time someone from the James family will attend college. Bronny had the option to play professionally overseas or in the G League, but chose to attend college.
