The Tampa Bay Rays extended their season-opening win streak to 10 games with a 1-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox. Brandon Lowe hit a homer in the eighth inning to secure the win, following a dramatic escape by reliever Colin Poche from a bases-loaded mess in the top of the inning. The Rays are the first team to win their first 10 games since the 1987 Brewers, and have now recorded three straight shutouts for the first time in their 26 seasons.
