Mets Draft Colin Houck and Brandon Sproat in 2023 MLB Draft
The New York Mets selected high school shortstop Colin Houck as their first pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, despite already having Francisco Lindor and Ronny Mauricio in their system. Houck, a two-sport star athlete, is expected to join the Mets' improving farm system. The Mets also picked right-handed pitcher Brandon Sproat from the University of Florida, who they had previously drafted but were unable to sign last year.
