Mets Trade for Adrian Houser and Tyrone Taylor from Brewers

The New York Mets have acquired outfielder Tyrone Taylor and right-handed starting pitcher Adrian Houser from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for pitching prospect Coleman Crow. The trade provides the Mets with cost-effective options at two positions, while allowing the Brewers to shed some salary. Houser, known for his sinker and ability to induce groundballs, adds to the Mets' starting pitching depth, while Taylor brings a right-handed bat and defensive versatility to the outfield. The acquisition of Taylor may influence the Mets' pursuit of other outfielders, but they are still in the market for additional players, including a starting pitcher.

Mets acquire Houser and Taylor in trade with Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers have traded right-hander Adrian Houser and outfielder Tyrone Taylor to the New York Mets in exchange for minor-league pitcher Coleman Crow. Houser and Taylor were both arbitration-eligible and were tendered contracts by the Brewers in November. The trade allows the Brewers to access a young starter in Crow and potentially address other needs on the roster. Houser had been with the Brewers since 2015 and had a career-best season in 2021. Taylor, the longest-tenured player in the organization, had a breakout season in 2022. Crow, a 23-year-old right-hander, has shown promise and is expected to recover well from Tommy John surgery.

Mets trade top prospects for Eduardo Escobar, recall Danny Mendick.

The New York Mets traded Eduardo Escobar to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for two right-handed minor league pitchers, Coleman Crow and Landon Marceaux. Crow, who has a previous connection to Mets GM Billy Eppler, had success in his limited appearances with the Angels AA affiliate, while Marceaux has had an up-and-down minor league career. The trade makes sense for the Mets, who have prioritized developing their prospects, and provides them with much-needed starting pitching depth in the minors.

Angels acquire Eduardo Escobar from Mets in trade deal.

The New York Mets traded infielder Eduardo Escobar to the Los Angeles Angels for right-handed pitchers Coleman Crow and Landon Marceaux. The Mets saw an opportunity to bring in some minor-league talent and were willing to cover Escobar’s salary for the rest of the season to do so. The Angels made this trade because of a slew of infield injuries over the last 10 days and wanted a proven third baseman to both start in the immediate future and serve as an insurance option for the oft-injured Rendon.
