Colorado Judge Condemns Company's Malicious and Bad Faith Coin Stunt
A judge in Larimer County, Colorado, ruled that a welding company, JMF Enterprises, acted "maliciously and in bad faith" when it paid a $23,500 settlement to a subcontractor, Fired Up Fabrication, in coins weighing over three tons. The judge ordered JMF to pay the subcontractor by a more conventional method and also pay their attorney's fees and costs. The coin stunt was deemed an attempt to annoy and harass the subcontractor, causing unnecessary delays in the case. JMF has been given 14 days to make a standard payment.
