Mount Sinai's Department of Rehabilitation and Human Performance has received a $6.2 million grant from the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation to expand the Cohen Center for Recovery From Complex Chronic Illnesses. The grant will support research and clinical care for conditions beyond long COVID, including long Lyme disease and other infection-associated complex chronic illnesses. The center will provide specialized rehabilitation, medical management, and personalized cognitive rehabilitation for patients, as well as research novel therapies. The Cohen Center aims to address the growing health crisis of chronic Lyme disease and other infection-associated chronic conditions and offer compassionate care to patients suffering from complex chronic illnesses.
