The New York Yankees have placed pitcher Clarke Schmidt on the 15-day injured list due to a right lat strain, recalling Cody Morris from Triple-A as a replacement. Schmidt, who was having a standout season, will be out for 4-6 weeks. Cody Poteet is set to start on Saturday, filling in for Schmidt.
