"Shaken, Not Stirred: Crafting the Iconic 007 Martini"
A new study suggests James Bond may have a drinking problem, but fans of the fictional superspy can still enjoy his signature Vesper martini. The recipe, originating from Ian Fleming's 1953 novel "Casino Royale," consists of gin, vodka, and Lillet Blanc, shaken until ice-cold and garnished with lemon peel. While the original recipe called for Kina Lillet, it can be substituted with Lillet Blanc as Kina Lillet is no longer available. The "shaken, not stirred" method goes against the traditional way of making martinis, which is usually stirred to avoid dilution.
