Industrial design studio Pearson Lloyd has collaborated with British brand Senator to create CoLab, a collection of furniture designed specifically for next-generation learning in classrooms. The furniture aims to support active and social learning, moving away from traditional lecture-style setups. The designs incorporate various seating and surface options to encourage non-hierarchical interaction and collaboration among students. The furniture also includes integrated power outlets and modular components for easy repair or replacement. Pearson Lloyd plans to test the furniture at Nottingham Trent University and believes it has the potential to influence future workspace design.
