Heatwave Forces Kansas Schools to Cancel Classes
Some Kansas schools, including McPherson High School and Skelly Elementary School, were forced to cancel classes due to malfunctioning HVAC systems, resulting in hot classroom temperatures. The districts are working on repairs, but some residents are skeptical and believe better facility maintenance should have been done. Other heat-related cancellations include outdoor practices at YMCA, outdoor activities in the City of Lawrence, and the cancellation of "Derby Night Lights" in Derby Public Schools.
