Top Bike-Friendly Cities in America: Portland, Traverse City, and Provincetown Lead the Way
Portland has been ranked fifth in the large city category for cycling in America by People for Bikes, an influential bike advocacy nonprofit. The rankings are based on a detailed process called the Bicycle Network Analysis (BNA), which assesses the connectivity and stress levels of a city's bike network. Portland earned a score of 56 out of 100, just one point ahead of New York City. Minneapolis topped the list with a score of 68. The rankings highlight the importance of creating low-stress cycling environments to encourage more people to ride bikes.
