Winkler Defends Laverne & Shirley Duo, Denies On-Set Feud
Henry Winkler refuted rumors of a difficult relationship between Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams on Laverne & Shirley, praising their on-screen chemistry and calling them “incredible together” and “great physical comedians.” He noted they were strong partners on the Happy Days set and acknowledged differing opinions after the spin-off, but said their collaboration was one of the best acting partnerships of his life. Laverne & Shirley aired from 1976–1983 and is available on Pluto TV; Williams died in 2023 and Marshall in 2018.
