Christine and the Queens' Personal Album Inspired by Angels in America

French singer-songwriter Christine and the Queens, also known as Chris, discusses his new album "Paranoia Angels True Love," which was inspired by Tony Kushner's play "Angels in America" and created as a part of his grieving process after the unexpected death of his mother. The album features Madonna as a godly matriarch and is Chris' most ambitious undertaking yet, bringing his work closer to the conceptual rock operas of the '70s or the work of art-pop legends like Laurie Anderson. Chris also discusses his trans identity and the need for Pride to be a constant conversation, not just a month-long event.

"Christine And The Queens Collaborates with Madonna on 'PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE' Album"

Christine And The Queens has revealed that Madonna will feature on several tracks of his upcoming album, ‘PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE’. The album is set to be released on June 9 and is the second part of an operatic gesture inspired by Tony Kushner’s play, Angels In America. Madonna embodies the character of Big Eye, a very ambivalent ‘being of light’ across the album. Chris was put in touch with Madonna by the album’s producer Mike Dean, and she agreed to be part of the project after a FaceTime call with Chris.
