The creators of Smallville, Miles Millar and Al Gough, have confirmed in a recent interview that they discussed the possibility of Chloe Sullivan, played by Allison Mack, eventually taking on the mantle of Lois Lane. This idea was considered due to the ongoing struggle between the TV series and Warner Bros.' film division to secure the character of Lois Lane. Ultimately, Lois Lane was introduced in Season 4 and became a permanent part of the show. Allison Mack, who portrayed Chloe, was later involved in a scandal and sentenced to prison for her involvement in a cult.
