Chinese entrepreneur Jesse Lyu Cheng's AI-powered gadget, Rabbit R1, priced at US$199, has become a surprise hit after its launch at CES 2024, with five batches of pre-orders selling out and a sixth batch of 50,000 devices being announced. The palm-sized orange box, developed by start-up Rabbit Inc, features a vintage design with a pressable scroll wheel, voice controls, a rotating camera, and a 2.88-inch touch screen. Running on a proprietary operating system based on a "large action model," the device aims to revolutionize human-machine interaction beyond smartphones and computers. Jesse Lyu Cheng, known for founding Raven Tech and being on Forbes' 30 Under 30 Entrepreneurs list, has raised US$36 million in funding for Rabbit Inc.
