Cherryville Storms: Man's Heroic Rescue and School Closures.
Cherryville, North Carolina was hit by severe storms and straight-line winds causing damages to about 55 structures. A man risked his life to help a mom and daughter trapped in their car during the storm. The man was thrown by the wind and suffered injuries but survived. The city has declared a state of emergency and the Red Cross is providing support to impacted families. Schools in the area will be closed due to the storm damage.
