Gunshot victim seeks refuge at Cheesecake Factory in Fashion Valley Mall

A man walked into The Cheesecake Factory at Fashion Valley Mall with a gunshot wound in his leg, claiming he had been shot in the leg in one of the parking lots. The 29-year-old man was sitting in his car when the suspect opened one of his doors, pointed a gun at him and demanded all of his belongings. The man then tried to disarm the suspect, but the gun discharged and shot the man in the upper left thigh. The suspect fled the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the suspect was described as being 20 to 30 years old and wearing a dark beanie, shirt and pants.

NJ Cheesecake Factory workers played 'Russian Roulette' with drugs

Five Cheesecake Factory workers in Hackensack, New Jersey, overdosed on cocaine laced with fentanyl in the parking lot of a high-end shopping mall. One of the workers died three days later, while the other four survived. A colleague said the drug use in the lower level parking lot is so “depressing” he now leaves his car in a different area. The group of friends thought they were ingesting cocaine and were unaware it was laced with a dangerous amount of the opioid fentanyl. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office would not comment on the “ongoing investigation.”
