Nasyrova gave Tsvyk a slice of poisoned cheesecake before stealing her passport and work permit. She was convicted of attempted murder, assault and unlawful imprisonment. Nasyrova has also been accused of drugging and robbing men she met on dating websites and is wanted in Russia for the murder of a woman in 2014.

Russian-born Viktoria Nasyrova has been sentenced to 21 years in a US prison for attempting to murder her American lookalike with poisoned cheesecake and stealing her identity. Nasyrova visited her victim's home in August 2016 bearing the gift of a cheesecake, which was laced with phenazepam, a highly potent sedative. The victim fell unconscious and was later found with pills scattered around her to make it look like she had tried to kill herself. Nasyrova was also convicted of assault, unlawful imprisonment, and theft.
