DNA Match: Gilgo Beach Suspect's Wife Implicated in Killings
The DNA sample taken from the estranged wife of the alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer, Rex Heuermann, matches her genetic material found on the remains of victims, according to law enforcement sources. Asa Ellerup's cheek swab was obtained by investigators, and the DNA extracted from her hairs matches the samples. Prosecutors have cleared Ellerup of any wrongdoing, stating that she was out of town during the time of the murders. Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the deaths of three women and is also the prime suspect in the killing of a fourth victim.
