Cher Receives Son Chaz Bono's Approval to Use Deadname in Memoir
Cher has received her son Chaz Bono's blessing to use his deadname in her memoir, "Cher: The Memoir, Part One," to discuss his life before his 2008 transition. Chaz, who transitioned in 2008 and legally changed his name in 2010, is supportive of this decision. Cher, a long-time LGBTQ advocate, plans to refer to him as Chaz in the memoir's second volume. The first part of the memoir covers Cher's early life and career, and the second part is expected next year.
