OpenAI Unveils ChatGPT-4 Turbo at Inaugural DevDay
OpenAI unveiled ChatGPT-4 Turbo at its first-ever developer conference, DevDay. The new model supports 128,000 tokens of context, offers improved control with JSON mode, and introduces the Retrieval function to bring knowledge from external sources. OpenAI also announced updates to its API, including DALL-E 3 for generating images, Text-to-Speech (TTS) with six preset voices, and Whisper3, a new speech recognition model. The company will collaborate with select companies through the "Custom Models" program, but it will be costly. OpenAI also increased rate limits for ChatGPT-4 customers and introduced Copyright Shield to cover legal costs for copyright infringement issues.
