"Promposal Gone Wrong: Chandler Faces $1M Lawsuit After Student's Accident"
The City of Chandler and Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) are facing a $1 million lawsuit after a 'promposal' at Arizona College Prep High School went wrong. Surveillance video captured the moment a Porsche crashed into a student riding a motorcycle on school property. The student claims that the school resource officer (SRO) and school administration were involved in the plan, which was for the SRO to pretend to pull him over for running a stop sign and then reveal a poster. The injured student's attorney filed a Notice of Claim, alleging liability and responsibility on the part of the city, school district, SRO, and principal. The City of Chandler and CUSD have 60 days to respond to the claim before a potential lawsuit is filed.
