Angels shuffle pitching roster with Valdez and Silseth selections.
The Los Angeles Angels have designated right-hander César Valdez for assignment and placed catcher Chad Wallach on the 7-day concussion injured list. In corresponding moves, the team recalled right-hander Jimmy Herget and selected catcher Chris Okey. Valdez was just selected to the club's roster yesterday, but with the bullpen more refreshed and an off-day coming up on Thursday, the Angels decided they could get by without him. The team has a week to trade Valdez or pass him through waivers.
