American Express is launching a new mobile travel app that includes features like estimated wait times and the ability to join Centurion Lounge waitlists, aiming to improve the lounge experience amid overcrowding, alongside other travel planning tools and digital travel stamps, with more features expected in the future.
American Express has opened its first Centurion Lounge at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) in Washington, D.C. The nearly 12,000-square-foot lounge offers a variety of amenities, including a unique dining concept with dishes from award-winning chefs, relaxation areas, and a dedicated space for Centurion cardholders. The lounge is accessible to Amex Centurion and Platinum cardholders, as well as certain Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardholders. Despite lacking a spa or outdoor terrace, the lounge sets a high standard for credit card-branded airport lounges at DCA.
American Express has opened its largest Centurion Lounge at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, featuring a whiskey bar, outdoor terraces, and locally-inspired design. Access is available to Amex cardmembers, with Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardholders also eligible. The 26,000 square foot space offers amenities such as private phone booths, shower suites, and a Southern and international cuisine buffet curated by a James Beard Award-winning chef. The lounge aims to set a new standard for airport lounges, but faces increasing competition in the credit card-branded lounge space.
