Spotify Drops Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Podcast Deal
Spotify and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Archewell Audio have announced they will be parting ways in a mutual decision, after Meghan's podcast failed to deliver the expected audience. Spotify is reducing its reliance on big celebrity signings and expensive original content that have weighed on its bottom line, and is embracing lower-cost, third party creators while pushing investment towards "always on" programming. Crisis communications guru Mark Borkowski says the Sussexes will have to "think hard" about what they can offer in whatever they do next.
