"Surviving Cows from CT Highway Crash Continue Journey to Ohio"

Fourteen cows died and six were euthanized after a cattle trailer overturned on a Connecticut highway. The truck was carrying 44 dairy cows from Maine to Ohio when it tipped over on an off-ramp. The driver was uninjured, and the decision to euthanize the animals was made to limit their suffering. The surviving 30 cows have been evaluated and are in good condition. The meat from the deceased cows is not fit for human consumption.

Tragic Accident Claims 14 Cows on I-84 in Newtown

The state veterinarian made the decision to euthanize the injured cows due to the risk of exposure to hazardous conditions. The remaining 30 cows are reported to be in good health. The driver of the truck was unharmed.

Cattle trailer crash causes I-70 traffic delay near Columbia.

A crash involving two tractor trailers and multiple other vehicles caused traffic delays on Interstate 70 at the Rocheport Bridge near Columbia, Missouri. One person was injured and transported to a hospital. One of the tractor trailers was loaded with 57 head of cattle and has since been offloaded on the bridge and moved to stock trailers. The other tractor trailer, carrying Bud Ice beer among other things, was also being unloaded so it could be towed away. The roadway was estimated to be closed through roughly 4 p.m. Tuesday.
