
Reds suffer crushing defeat against White Sox with Ashcraft's career worst start.
Reds starting pitcher Graham Ashcraft had the worst performance of his big league career during a 17-4 loss to the White Sox, giving up a career-high eight earned runs and six hits in just 1 2/3 innings. Chicago scored nine of its runs during an 11-run rally with two outs in the second inning. Ashcraft took a 108.8 mph comebacker by Luis Robert Jr. off his right leg but continued to pitch. The Reds dropped two of three in the series.
