Restaurant Brands to Acquire Carrols Restaurant Group for $1 Billion
Restaurant Brands International Inc., the owner of Burger King, plans to acquire its largest US franchisee, Carrols Restaurant Group Inc., for about $1 billion in cash. This acquisition is part of a strategy to revamp hundreds of locations and regain customer loyalty, with an additional $500 million earmarked for remodeling 600 of Carrols' over 1,000 locations.
