Pitt trims Acrisure Stadium capacity to boost crowd energy and cut costs
Pitt will reduce Acrisure Stadium capacity from 68,400 to 51,416 by closing the upper decks on the east and west sidelines, with the north end zone seating kept for 10,000 Pitt students. The move aims to concentrate fans, increase home-field energy, and lower operating costs, following 2025 attendance averages around 51,845. Some have floated Pitt building its own stadium, but the school plans to continue sharing Acrisure Stadium for now.
