Johnny Rzeznik, lead singer of the Goo Goo Dolls, surprised patients and staff at Hartford Hospital by performing some of their hit songs ahead of the Black & Red cancer fundraiser, which raised $2.5 million for the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute and its Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center. The event featured a performance by the Goo Goo Dolls at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Art.
