Rich Lyons, a UC Berkeley alumnus and leader in innovation and entrepreneurship, has been appointed as the new chancellor of the university. He faces challenges including financial sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and campus morale. Lyons, known for his fundraising and leadership at the Haas School of Business, will take over from retiring Chancellor Carol Christ on July 1, overseeing a campus of nearly 46,000 students and 1,570 faculty members.
