A motorcycle rider carrying a camera operator died in a head-on collision with a triathlete during the Ironman European Championship in Hamburg. The accident occurred on a road next to a dike where the racecourse narrowed and both lanes were in use by competitors and motorbikes carrying camera operators. The motorcyclist, an unidentified 70-year-old man, died at the scene and the triathlete, 26, was hospitalized with severe injuries. The 50-year-old camera operator was taken to a hospital for treatment. The race was briefly interrupted, and the organizers expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased.
