Leaks suggest that the upcoming iPhone 16, expected in 2024, may feature a retro-style camera hump reminiscent of the iPhone X and 11, deviating from the recent dual rear camera layout. New renders depict a design with a vertical dual rear camera hump and a relocated LED flash, paired with Apple's latest display type and an Action Button. While these images are presented as a "concept" and should be taken with caution, they are based on a "schematic" posted by a well-known leaker. If accurate, this design choice is likely to extend to the iPhone 16 Plus as well.
RedMagic's upcoming 9 Pro-series flagships are expected to feature a completely symmetrical profile without a protruding camera hump. The rear cameras are rumored to be hidden under glass, resulting in frames that are no thicker than those of other high-end smartphones. RedMagic claims to have achieved this by customizing nearly half of the camera components in-house and fusing light transmission and polarizing properties with the rear panel. The 9 Pro series is also expected to come with improved cooling and battery upgrades. The design will be revealed in November 2023.
OPPO has launched the A2 Pro, a mid-range Android smartphone with a design reminiscent of the Find X6 flagship series. Despite its stylish camera hump, the A2 Pro features a mid-range MediaTek chipset, dual rear cameras, a 120Hz display, up to 12GB of RAM, and a vegan leather finish option. It is a rebrand of the Realme 11 Pro and comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display, Dimensity 7050 SoC, and 67W charging for its 5,000mAh battery. The A2 Pro is more expensive than the 11 Pro and is the first device to launch under OPPO's new extended warranty program in China.
The battery capacities of the upcoming iPhone 15 series have reportedly leaked, revealing increased capacities across the board. The vanilla iPhone 15 is said to have a 3,877mAh battery, while the 15 Pro will have a slightly smaller 3,650mAh battery. The 15 Plus is rumored to have a 4,912mAh battery, surpassing the Pro Max's 4,852mAh battery. The Pro Max is expected to have the largest camera hump ever seen on an iPhone. The new iPhones may also feature USB type-C charging.
