A leak reveals the expected color options for the upcoming iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air, showing five colors for the former and four for the latter, based on leaked camera component images. The colors include black, blue, green, purple, and silver for the iPhone 17, and black, light blue, light gold, and silver for the iPhone 17 Air, with some uncertainty about the colors for the Pro models.
Samsung, one of the major suppliers of CMOS image sensor (CIS) components for smartphones, is set to increase prices for these camera components in 2024. The sluggish smartphone sales in recent years led to a decline in demand for CIS components, but with the market rebounding and phone sales increasing, Samsung has seen a rise in demand and is raising prices by an average of 25%. The price increase mainly affects components with 32MP and higher resolutions, and it remains to be seen if it will impact the prices of Samsung's own Galaxy phones with higher resolution cameras.
