Doctor who performed abortion on 10-year-old girl faces discipline hearing.
Indiana's medical licensing board is set to determine whether to take disciplinary action against OB/GYN Caitlin Bernard, who performed an abortion for a 10-year-old Ohio rape victim in June 2022, less than a week after Roe v. Wade was struck down. Indiana's Attorney General Todd Rokita has alleged that Bernard violated ethical standards and state reporting laws. The board can either take no action or impose disciplinary measures up to and including the immediate termination of Bernard's medical license. Bernard's lawyers have refuted Rokita's allegations as baseless and politically motivated.
