"Bankrupt Brands Find New Life as Buy Buy Baby and Harmon Stores Reopen Under New Ownership"
Buy Buy Baby and Harmon, former corporate siblings of Bed Bath & Beyond, are set to reopen after being bought by new owners at bankruptcy auctions. The owners of baby goods retailer Dream on Me plan to reopen 11 Buy Buy Baby stores in the Northeast and aim to have 100 to 120 stores across the US in the next few years. Private investor Jonah Raskas plans to reopen five Harmon stores in the tri-state area. The new operators of both brands have the opportunity to rebuild the businesses with better balance sheets and less exposure to underperforming locations. The revamped Buy Buy Baby will focus on experiences, community building, and learning, while Harmon will maintain its wide assortment, low prices, and beloved private label Face Values.
