Historic Bay Area Bakeries Hit the Market for $1
Anchor Brewing's San Francisco property and Grand Bakery in Oakland are both up for sale. Grand Bakery, a kosher bakery that has been open since 1959, is being sold for $1, with the owner focused on finding the right buyer. Anchor Brewing's former brewing operations and taproom property is also for sale, with a sale price undisclosed. Former employees are interested in purchasing and reopening the business as a worker-owned cooperative. Additionally, a Tokyo-born yakitori shop is set to open in San Francisco's Japantown, and Hayes Valley's Loquat bakery is closed for a day of grieving and self-care.
