JCPS Implements Bus System Changes to Address Delays and Restart School
Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) in Kentucky are warning parents to expect delays as over 60,000 elementary and middle school students return to school after six days of missed instruction. The district has been facing major issues with its new transportation system, resulting in buses running late and causing frustration among parents. JCPS has implemented immediate changes, including extra buses and vans on standby, additional staff in the transportation department's command center, and the deployment of "shoulder buddies" to assist drivers. The district plans to provide families with a new app to track their students' bus locations in the future.
