Luke Czepiela, an Air Racing champion, successfully landed a winged aircraft on Dubai's Burj Al Arab helipad without visual cues on his third attempt. He had made 650 test landings in preparation for the stunt. Czepiela then performed doughnuts on the helipad before flying away over Dubai.
Polish pilot Lukasz Czepiela has become the first person to land a plane on the helipad of the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel in Dubai. Czepiela was able to bring his specially adapted light aircraft to a stop in just 21 meters, landing on a platform only 27 meters wide, 212 meters above the ground on top of the 56-story building. The stunt had been in the planning since 2021 and required 650 test landings, according to Red Bull.
