
Multiple Fires Ravage Alexandria and New Orleans, Leaving Buildings Damaged and Businesses Impacted
Two fires in Alexandria, Louisiana damaged a total of five buildings. The first fire occurred on Rapides Avenue and North 13th Streets, spreading to three additional buildings before being brought under control. The second fire on Overton Street was caused by improper disposal of smoking material and was extinguished in 16 minutes. No injuries were reported in either incident. The Alexandria Fire Department reminds residents to exercise caution when disposing of smoking material and to install and test smoke detectors in their homes.
