Aston Villa beat Newcastle United 2-0 at St James' Park, their first league win there since 2005, as Unai Emery's side reinforced their European push. Emiliano Martinez made an early save, Buendia curled in a superb opener and Ollie Watkins headed home late, keeping Villa third and four points behind Arsenal after a midweek Europa League win.
